Salut les gars !
Hey guys ! (english version bellow)
[ENGLISH]
Well, it’s been a while since I haven’t talked about music on my blog. And, i guess it’s the first article I write in english *woop woop* (hope there are some anglophone people around here). If you want more content in the language of Shakespeare, check out my insta !
Anyway. We’re here to talk about Transit Club, an awesome swedish band created by a friend. Between ambiant music and pop ballads, it’s so beautiful to hear and… watch (yeay the 2 songs have their music videos !).
And of course, the best way to describe a creation is to ask the artist. So here is the frenglish interview of Stephane, founder, singer and musician of Transit Club.
Here we gooo !

◊ INTERVIEW ◊

Name : Stéphane aka Stewie aka Steve
Localisation : Stockholm subway
Hobbies: music, trains, cats, dogs, books, trains
Alix : Pourquoi « Transit Club » ? Where does « Transit club » comes from ?
Stéphane : Salut Alix! Steve Motion here. J’adore ton blog! Surtout quand t’as pris le ‘Eurostar’ à Londres. Très cool. 10/10 transit.
Transit Club sort of grew out of the fact that I really love learning about public transit systems. Before we had a name, the band would tease me whenever they found me reading articles about future infrastructure plans, and joked that I should start a Transit Club. So here we are!
Quelles sont vos influences ? What are your influences ?
😍 Nos influences sont Coldplay (Chris has been an idol since I was 13) Bon Iver, The Japanese House, Francis and the Lights, Kanye West (his creative energy and drive is incredible!!) and The 1975 (especially their later stuff), but also Ghanaian high-life legend Daddy Lumba, and Persian Superstar Andy!
Can we know when your next EP will be out ?
We’ve got a single coming out in mid September (!!) called ‘Bells’ with a video soon after, another single in November, and then possibly an EP in January, but nothing’s set in stone yet. We might just keep releasing singles, to adapt to the way people listen to music these days, and then drop an EP/album when there’s enough of a fanbase that really need a transit club fix 🙂
What’s next ?
We’re going to be bunkered up in the studio until the end of the year, with the occasional break for daylight to play a few shows (in stockholm) and record a few music videos. We plan on touring in the new year (2020) and Paris is definitely at the top of our list!!
Plutôt bus, métro ou trottinette électrique ? Bus, subway or electric scooter ?
I believe that all transit were created equal. but. if i had to choose, it would definitely be le Metro! But i guess i should also mention trottinette électrique because I ride one in our latest video?? 😅
The book you take with you to a deserted island?
Probably any book by Kurt Vonnegut! His interpretation of humanity is incredible. Sometimes tragic, sometimes ridiculously funny. He never ceased to point out the beauty in life.
Ton premier souvenir de lecture / Your first memory that implies literature?
ouhhh i think the first book I read by myself was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. But one of the first books that really left a mark on me was when I read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley in my teens.
Le livre que tu lis en ce moment / What are you currently reading?
Songwriting for Dummies! no joke! freshening up on my songwriting tools and tips. But next in line after that is the 2nd installment from Douglas Adams Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy 4 part trilogy, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, the first book is hilarious!
Le livre à lire en écoutant « Garden » / The book to read while listening to « Garden »?
Definitely L’Étranger de Albert Camus! There’s a scene of me reading that book on the tunnelbana in Stockholm in our ‘Garden’🍁 music video 😄
Le livre à lire en écoutant « Pretend » / The book to read while listening to « Pretend »?
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
― Kurt Vonnegut, Mother Night
